I can’t decide if either I was born a few decades to late or too early. I can remember when the people of this country could stand behind their elected officials. Sure, you may not agree with the official 100% of the time, but when the matter of protecting Americans was at risk, party politics was dropped and we were all united as one. What happened to us? More importantly, can we get back to that?
My 41 years on this planet, I’ve lived half in peace time and the other half in war time. I realize that all my daughters know is wartime. My oldest (who is 19) only experienced little over a year of peace and she was too young to realize it. I really hope that my youngest gets to experience peace in her lifetime. Call me selfish, but I hope to feel what peacetime is like again before I leave this world behind. I guess you can call me a dreamer, but don’t we all in the US dream of the same thing?
Most of us are citizens of the United States right? I ask that because there are people who come from other countries that constantly are at war or battling over who is right at the moment. I know the people fleeing want to know that feeling of peace for their children. I’m all for them coming over IF they come through the proper channels. I also know there are some who infiltrate the masses just so they can scare and cause havoc because of their extremist political or extremist religious views. I’m all for blocking them out to keep Americans safe, but what is the difference between us keeping them off of the United States soil and protecting one of our U.S. embassies? You would protect your house, wouldn’t you?
There are times when force is needed as a preventative action when desperate times call for it. In the military, “imminent attack” falls under that category when there is enough reliable intelligence that corroborates with said event. Even I would shoot a rattlesnake if I saw it coming toward me after I did everything else to get away from it or detour it. Most of the time, if I see a snake, I got the opposite direction, but if it comes after me, I got no choice but to defend myself and there’s a good chance that one of us will die. It’s no different what happened with what President Trump did with the Iranian General, Qassem Soleimani. That guy was bad news from the word go if all he wanted to do was kill innocent people. Do I think killing people is right? No, I do not think that is right, but when you are left with no choice and your family is at stake, you do all you can to defend them.
No matter what your political stance is with our current President, an attack on one of our embassies is an attack on every single American. And no, the President of the United States does not have to tell Congress when he authorizes a drone strike on a very credible threat. The President is in charge of the U.S. military, that is his job to protect the citizens of this great country. I’m not a big fan of the guy personally, but I can get behind someone who is legitimately protecting this country without trying to cover up murder and sodomization stemmed by what started as a bad arms dealing. Anyone remember Benghazi? The US lost four men in a similar attack during our previous Administration, who wouldn’t even call it a terrorist attack against our own people, but then tried to cover it all up with the help of Hillary Clinton. By the way, if you didn’t get that email from Hillary, Jeffrey Epstein didn’t kill himself.
To quote another post I seen, “it saddens me as a man in this country, to see more Americans displaying their hatred for the President, so much so, that it exceeds their love and respect for the American Soldiers along with their hatred for terrorists”. If you feel the need to apologize to Iran for what this President had done to protect his fellow citizens, I’m sure you will be able to find suitable and very affordable housing over there. I’m still waiting for the mass exodus to Canada that supposed to happen when Donald Trump became president. I’ll remind you that I voted for Mike Pence, but it was a packaged deal and I got over it.
Now, I know there will be people who will message me on here with their anger and disapproval because of what I said above. They’ll send me links to some really odd website as a source. Guys, those websites are doing the same thing the Nazi’s did back during World War II: Pushing Propaganda. There are so many sources / “bots” using generic websites that get on social media to post false stories or misinformation and you just eat it up like it’s gospel. Sharing it like it’s news. It’s on facebook (or the internet), so it must be true. Another shocker: Mainstream media is not your friends guys. You think NBC, CBS, ABC, Fox News, MSNBC, Breitbart, CNN, RT, Univision, NPR, or USA Today really care about what you think? If they did, they would actually be reporting the news with real journalist and WITHOUT opinion or bias. They have an agenda and it’s to tell you what to think so you will swing over to their side. It’s so bad, even our so-called “local media” is playing along.
Right now, we need strong leadership more than anything. One way or the other, that’s what this president is trying to show. It’s not a dictatorship, Tyranny, or Oligarchy. Nor are we headed to World War III over this recent event. Although, I would suspect some form of retaliation (for our retaliation) by Iran. Unfortunately, we are a country so divided that allows many multiple “pot stirrers” to influence our feelings, thoughts, and functions on daily basis. There are so many Doom & Gloom people out there promoting junk that we can’t see what is literally going on with our neighbors next door. Have you read, seen, or noticed in a slight little bit what is going on in Virginia right now? There’s a real powder keg that is about to go off in our own back yard. Unfortunately, everyone else is staring at the plume of smoke rising out of Iran and blaming a (impeached?) President on his decision to protect an American Embassy. I guess that happens when you allow elected officials who represent California and New York run what the rest of the country. Both, Ronald Reagan and John Kennedy, should be turning over in their graves right now.
Needless to say, if you don’t like what is going on with your President right now, the good news for you is that you can elect someone else to replace him in about 10 months from now. Until then, you have plenty of time to prepare for whatever may come our way. If you want to, you can plant a tree and tie a yellow ribbon around it, install a flagpole on your house or property to show you are a proud American, and you know baseball season is about to start (White Sox going all the way this year!). Maybe you could run for a political office, if it is positive change you seek. Did you know we have a woman from Fort Smith, Arkansas who is actively running for President of the United States in 2020? Yes, her name is Mosie Boyd (Democrat) and I have met her a few times. At least she is trying to do something physically. So what is your excuse?
If political office isn’t your thing, then go put on a uniform and stand guard on a post. You like to repost someone else’s propaganda on your social media? Try switching your materials to the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights for a while. You like telling people about what’s wrong with their point of view? Try a different discussion tactic and make it a debate or conversation of ideas. Are you the type who has to get the guidance or approval of others to make it through life? Try asking God or whichever deity that protects your life for guidance. Are you not confident enough in what you believe in that it makes you smile to put down someone else’s belief? Then meditate on what it is you believe and decide if it’s really who you are inside. If you want real positive change, it’s starts with Y-O-U.
I don’t consider myself a very smart man, but I am smart enough to know you don’t put your head in a wood chipper. Although I feel that so many people have decided to do a swan dive into one when it comes to politics, mainly about our current President. I should warn you though, if you choose to follow a political party blindly, be prepared to fall on that jagged-edge sword. It’s so bad that my social media feeds appear to have gotten an infectious disease I call, “Anti-Trump-itus”. It’s mainly people who want to complain and don’t have anything better to offer as a solution. Those type of people are ones that I could do without on my social media. No matter if it’s about who is running the country or the local Kiwanis club, they just have to complain because they are so insecure about what they believe, resulting in their lives becoming more negative. I feel sorry, but not sorry, for those people. I pray for them, but it is up to the individual person to change their ways.
I’ll go one step over the line for all those posting or saying variations of “screw Trump”: Well guess what, genius? Yo’ mama did that about nine months before your were born. So right now (until he gets out of office), that makes him “your daddy”.
